How to Clean an Ejaculating Dildo, Inside and Out

An ejaculating dildo is cleaned in two parts: the outside, like any sex toy, and the inner channel where the liquid sits. The channel is the part people forget, and if water or lube stays in it, you get odor and residue. With the Cannon you clean it with the same pump you use to squirt: draw in, shake, spray out.

The short version
  1. Spray out all the liquid right after use.
  2. Rinse the channel with warm water (86-104 °F / 30-40 °C), once or twice.
  3. Draw in warm water with a little mild soap, shake, let it sit, spray it out.
  4. Rinse with clean water until the soap is gone.
  5. Spray it empty with the tip pointing down, then let it dry tip down for 24-48 hours.

What you need

  • Warm water, 86-104 °F (30-40 °C). It doesn't need to be very hot.
  • A mild, unscented intimate soap, or a toy cleaner made for silicone.
  • A clean cloth or paper towel.

Step by step

1. Empty the channel

As soon as you're done, spray out any liquid left inside, even if you didn't use the squirting feature. The longer you wait, the more the residue dries and the harder it is to remove.

2. Rinse with warm water

Dip the tip in warm water, squeeze and release the balls to draw it in, and spray it out. Repeat once or twice. If you only used water, this plus step 3 is often enough.

3. Wash with soap

Mix warm water with a few drops of soap, draw it in, shake the dildo a little and let it sit for a few minutes. Then spray everything out. Don't overdo the soap: more isn't better, it's just more suds to rinse out.

4. Rinse out the soap

Draw in and spray clean water until no suds come out, usually twice.

5. Wash the outside

With soap and water, including the folds of the balls and the base with the suction cup. Rinse and dry with a clean cloth.

6. Get all the water out

Hold the tip pointing down and spray it empty several times until nothing comes out. The more water you remove now, the less drying time you need.

7. Let it dry

Stand it tip down, hanging or in a holder, somewhere dry with good airflow. A little moisture always stays behind; it disappears within 24-48 hours. Before you put it away, check that it's dry inside and out.

How much cleaning, depending on how you used it

Situation What to do
You used plain water 1 or 2 water rinses, 1 soap wash, then dry
You used lube, fake cum or another mix At least 2 soap washes and 1 plain-water rinse to remove every trace of soap
You didn't use the squirting feature, with a condom Wash the outside. The channel stayed clean, but a quick rinse doesn't hurt
You didn't use the squirting feature, no condom Wash the outside, plus rinse the channel if any fluids got in
You shared it with a partner or used it on different areas Change the condom or wash it thoroughly before switching

High-temperature wash

The Cannon's silicone withstands up to 176 °F (80 °C). If you want a deeper clean, for example after using liquids other than water, you can submerge it in 176 °F (80 °C) water for no more than one or two minutes. A long boil isn't needed and shouldn't be done after every use. Let it cool before handling it and don't spray very hot water: you can scald yourself.

What to avoid

  • Bleach and harsh cleaners: not needed, and they leave residue in the channel.
  • Scented soaps: they irritate and stay in the channel.
  • Storing it damp in a drawer: without airflow the leftover moisture turns into a musty smell.
  • Poking things into the channel: you risk damaging it. For stubborn residue use warm water and time.

For your other toys the method changes with the material: how to clean sex toys by material.

FAQ

How often should I clean an ejaculating dildo?

After every use, even if you only used water. You can't see the channel, and it's where residue builds up the most.

What soap should I use?

A mild, unscented intimate soap or a silicone toy cleaner. Very little of it.

How long does it take to dry?

After you've sprayed the water out, 24-48 hours tip down.

Can I boil it?

The Cannon withstands 176 °F (80 °C) for one or two minutes. A long boil isn't needed and shouldn't be done after every use.

How do I remove dried residue from the channel?

Draw in warm water with a little soap, leave the channel full for a few minutes, and spray it out. Repeat until it runs clear.

If I use a condom, do I still need to clean the channel?

If you didn't use it to squirt and the condom didn't break, the channel is clean. Just wash the outside.
