In an ejaculating dildo the liquid runs through a narrow channel that often doesn't come apart. Whatever you put in has to come back out with a rinse, without scrubbing. That's why most fake cum recipes you'll find online, made with cornstarch, egg or milk, are a bad idea here: they're fine for a video, not for a thin tube.
This guide covers what to put in the Cannon and any similar toy, three simple mixes for a whiter, thicker stream, and what to keep in the kitchen. If you haven't yet seen how the reservoir works, start with how an ejaculating dildo works.
- Water-based only: water, or water with a water-based lube.
- No solids, sugars or proteins: starch, sugar, honey, eggs and dairy stick in the channel or spoil.
- It has to rinse out with warm water: if you'd need to scrub to get it out, don't put it in.
What you can put in
| Liquid | What the stream looks like | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Warm water | Clear, thin | The simplest choice. Ideal for testing the toy |
| Water + water-based lube | Milky, a bit thicker | Pick a white or creamy lube, unscented and without warming or cooling effects |
| Ready-made water-based fake cum | White, thick | Thin it if it's very thick, or it won't draw in. If it might get near your mouth, pick one labeled edible |
Three mixes
1. Milky liquid (the easiest)
- You need: 1 part white or creamy water-based lube, 3 to 4 parts warm water. For example 1 tablespoon of lube and 4 of water.
- How: pour everything into a clean container with a lid and shake gently for a minute.
- Before using: let it sit for a couple of minutes. Air bubbles drawn into the channel make the stream sputter.
2. Thicker
- You need: 1 part lube, 2 parts warm water.
- How: as above, but add the water a little at a time until the liquid flows without turning into jelly.
- Test it: draw some up with the tip in a glass first. If it's hard to draw in or the stream breaks, it's too thick: add water. The thicker the mix, the more residue it leaves, so always do the full rinse afterwards.
3. Thick without lube: xanthan gum (try a small batch first)
- You need: 1 cup (250 ml) warm water and about 1/8 teaspoon food-grade xanthan gum (sold in most supermarkets and in gluten-free aisles).
- How: sprinkle it over the water while whisking so it doesn't clump. Let it sit for 10 minutes and strain through a fine sieve before drawing it in.
- Note: xanthan makes the liquid stringy but doesn't turn it white. For color, stir in a tablespoon of white lube. Make a small batch and do the full rinse afterwards.
Mix only what you need and throw away what's left. Homemade liquids shouldn't be stored.
What to avoid and why
| Ingredient | The problem |
|---|---|
| Cornstarch (cornflour) | The base of most fake cum recipes. It thickens with heat and dries in the channel like glue |
| Sugar, honey, condensed milk, syrups | Sticky, can clog the tube, and can irritate mucous membranes |
| Egg white, eggs, yogurt, milk | Proteins that coagulate and spoil. Left in the channel they become a hygiene problem |
| Pure glycerin | A sugar alcohol: it can irritate and leaves a sticky film |
| Oil, including coconut oil | Rinses poorly with water alone and coats the walls of the channel |
| Silicone-based lubes | They damage the surface of a silicone toy and are hard to rinse out |
| Scented, warming or cooling products | They can irritate and leave residue you can't see |
Before you squirt
- Temperature: warm, close to body temperature. Cold liquid is unpleasant; hot liquid isn't needed.
- Test it first: squirt into the sink and see how it comes out. If it sputters, draw it in again; if it's weak, thin it.
- If you use anything other than the options above: wash with soap at least twice, as described in our guide to cleaning an ejaculating dildo.
FAQ
Can I just use water?
Yes. The stream is clear, but it leaves no residue and is the safest choice for the channel.
How do I make the liquid whiter?
Use a white or creamy water-based lube, 1 part to 3 or 4 parts water. Food coloring is best avoided: it can stain and isn't meant to sit in a narrow channel.
Can I use cornstarch?
We don't recommend it. It thickens with heat and dries in the channel. If you try it anyway, rinse right away with repeated rounds of warm water and soap.
Can I make the liquid ahead of time?
Better not to. Mix only what you need and throw away the rest, especially if you used anything other than water and lube.
Why won't a thick liquid draw in?
The pump has limited strength. The thicker the liquid, the harder it is for it to travel up the channel. Add water until it flows.
What if the channel gets blocked?
Draw in and spray warm water several times. Don't push anything into the channel. If the residue is dry, leave the channel filled with warm water for a few minutes and try again.
